Summary Job Statement


 The Manager – Retail Sales Division is responsible for directing all aspects of key account activity in the Retail portion of the Division, with a focus on local customers as well as leading the Key Account team for the Division

 


Responsibilities
•Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the UNITED policies and applicable laws Interview, hire, and train associates
•Plan, assign, and direct work
•Appraise performance
•Address complaints and resolve problems
•Builds positive associate morale
•Motivate and communicate effectively. Provide direction and leadership to team
•Collaborates with functional partners on forecasting activities and performance goals
•Ensures in-outlet standards are executed per channel direction
•Leads the Key Accounts team with assigned customers and is responsible for development and implementation of key initiatives to include Customer Marketing Agreements (CMA), price package plans, business reviews, new brands, promotions, and marketing activities
•Coordinates the development of aligned business goals with customers based on channel strategy
•Responsible for conducting market visits with assigned team members and customers to measure performance vs execution standards
•Provides feedback and recommendations to the leadership team on competitive threats and business opportunities
•Guides the negotiation and renewal of contracts through assigned team members
•Manages the executive level relationship with each customer and assists in resolving any concerns and issues of customers
•Ensures all business and financial goals are achieved
•Develops, reviews, and analyzes sales results to determine customer needs, price schedules and discount rates
•Responsible for creating and implementing a strategic vision for the team

 


Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
•Minimum age 18 years old
•Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
•Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
•Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
•Ability to read, write and speak English
•Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
•Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
•Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
•Strong leadership and organizational skills
•Proven ability to coach and manage needs and concerns of multiple associates
•Bachelor’s Degree or 2 to 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
•Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
•Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
•Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
•Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
•Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
•Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
•Ability to quickly learn internal UNITED systems, SAP, and Margin Minder
•Proven analytical, leadership, planning/organizing, problem solving and strategic thinking skills
•Frequent typing/keyboarding, standing, walking, and exposure to weather
•Ability to frequently Lift, Carry, Push, and Pull up to 25lbs.
