Summary Job Statement

The Shuttle Driver is primarily responsible for pulling finished goods from the production plant and raw materials from the warehouse to the plant.


  • Makes sure all loads are picked up from the plant as they are loaded with no delays.
  • Always makes sure trailers are in place at all times for both the plant and the warehouse for successful start ups and shut downs.
  • Makes sure all deliveries for both finished goods and raw materials are on time.
  • Makes sure all paper work and bills of lading are filled out correctly before pulling the loads.
  • Makes sure all loads either going in or out of the plant are sealed.
  • Fills out and maintains daily inspection sheet for our shuttle tractors/trailers and notifies Service Department, Supervisors, and or the Facility Manager of any problems.
  • Works in a productive manner with peers, management and the customer to achieve facility Productivity goals (12-14 loads pulled per shift, per driver).
  • Reports lack of work and or any production issues immediately to the supervisor and understands he/she will be expected to work in the warehouse as needed to maintain productivity for both the shuttle and warehouse.



Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 6+ months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be qualified in Class A Truck driving and warehouse distribution work.
