Summary Job Statement

This position is primarily responsible for working in the shuttle pulling finished goods and raw materials to and from the production plant and all warehouses.

 

Responsibilities

  • Make sure all loads are picked up from the plant as they are loaded with no delays.
  • Always make sure trailers are in place at all times for both the plant and the warehouse for successful start ups and shut downs.
  • Make sure all deliveries for both finished goods and raw materials are on time.
  • Make sure all paper work and bills of lading are filled out correctly before pulling the loads.
  • Make sure all loads either going in or out of the plant are sealed.
  • Fills out and maintains daily inspection sheet for our shuttle tractors/trailers and notifies Service Department, Supervisors, and or the Facility Manager of any problems.
  • While driving in the shuttle he or she will work in a productive manner with peers, management and the customer to achieve facility productivity goals (11-13 loads pulled per 8 hour shift, per driver).
  • Reports lack of work and or any production issues immediately to the supervisor and understands he/she will be expected to work in the warehouse as needed to maintain productivity for both the shuttle and warehouse.
  • Works in a productive manner with peers, management and the customer to achieve facility productivity goals of 32 to 37 pallets per hour when driving a forklift in the warehouse.

 

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must be qualified in Class A Truck driving and warehouse distribution work.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Good work record.

  • The ability to receive and follow instructions.
  • The ability to work well and get along with other employees and/or customers.
  • In the event of drivers, to have good MVR
  • Must be able to pass the company physical

Successful candidates with our company must pass a drug screen and background check.  (MVR/DOT Physical, if applicable)
