Summary Job Statement

Supervise and coordinate activities of service technicians by performing the following duties:

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Lines up service calls and dispatch techs each morning.
  • Assists techs in getting necessary parts and supplies for the day.
  • Reviews the previous day's dispatch sheets to gather information for the daily reports.
  • Prepares the daily report and key in data.
  • Reviews calls to determine if there are any problem calls that need attention.
  • Reviews and make repairs to high profile problem calls.
  • Reviews and assist techs with physical and technical issues.
  • Takes parts and supplies to tech as needed.
  • Performs surveys for service dept.
  • Performs Sarbanes/Oxley audits for USA.
  • Assists in inventory counts of all service vans in the Birmingham area.
  • Confirms time for employees.
  • Prepares absentee and exceptions reports for all employees.
  • Prepares nights/weekend duty schedule for the service techs and dispatchers.
  • Prepares event duty schedule for the service techs.
  • Prepares end of month reports.
  • Fills in for dispatcher/service operator as needed.
  • Directly supervises employees.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Interviews, hires, and trains employees.
  • Plans, assigns, and directs work.
  • Appraises performance.
  • Rewards and administers corrective action.
  • Addresses complaints and resolve problems.

 

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or 3 to 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Refrigeration Certificate Type 1 preferred.
  • Medical Certification preferred.
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Must be able to read, speak and comprehend English
  • Additional duties as assigned
