Summary Job Statement

Assist shift supervisor in the areas of shipping, loading, receiving, warehouse storage, product rotation, inventory accuracy,

productivity, quality and safety.



  • Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
  • Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency
  • Address complaints and resolve problems
  • Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommend remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain positive employee morale
  • Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; implement methods and proper use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock
  • Operate efficiently in an effort to increase productivity while maintaining as excellent level of safety and quality in the workplace.
  • Actively train and direct associates to get the most out of their skills and work toward continuous improvement.
  • Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures


Minimum Qualifications/ Requirements 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1 to 2 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be forklift certified.
  • Candidate must have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must be flexible to work weekends and other shifts if needed.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, resolve conflicts, possess effective communication skills, i.e. verbal, reading and writing, as well as, calculate figures and percentages.
  • Additional duties as assigned
