<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The Fleet Mechanic II is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Company fleet equipment to include, class 1-8 diesel and gasoline trucks, trailers, pallet jacks, and forklifts by performing the essential job duties.

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Roles and Responsibilities

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Perform various preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on all types of fleet equipment

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Troubleshoots mechanical and electronic malfunctions, perform all types of repairs, rebuild/replace major equipment components

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Perform emergency roadside services as needed

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Research and order parts, accurately record usage, and asset in managing stock inventory

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Complete electronic work orders, ensure all information is recorded in computerized maintenance system

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Assist team members with troubleshooting & repairs, researching parts, and inspecting equipment

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following all Good Manufacturing Practices

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Requirements

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Minimum age of 18 years old (21 years of age if Class A CDL is required)

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Ability to obtain Class A CDL license within 90 days may be requested (by location)

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Ability to read, write and speak English

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Advance knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on light duty, heavy duty and material handling equipment

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Ability to operate hand tools and others such as bench grinders, torch, drill press, jacks, and jack stands, Sawzall, etc. as required to perform work

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to ensure efficient use of time

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Ability to work in a positive and productive team environment

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Frequent vehicle operation, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, overhead reaching, use of PPE special clothing, grasping, pushing, pulling, and frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 50lbs.

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Repeated exposure to chemicals, weather, and noise

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">• Ability to show initiative, problem solving, technical skills, and demonstrate teamwork
